So who are we? We are friends, guides, instructors, and we are all
women! We are dedicated to providing a safe and fun learning
experience for other adventurous women.
Cynthia
Has been a lead kayak instructor since 1999 when she
moved to Chicago from New York. While in NY, she lived in the
Hudson River Valley, close to the Appalachian Trail and could be found
out hiking, backpacking, or climbing most every day. Cynthia has
kayaked in Maine, Florida, North Carolina, Montana, Washington State,
Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa,
Missouri, and Alaska. She has extensive experience leading trips.
She lives in Evanston, IL and is the owner of a misbehaved Black Lab who
loves hiking and kayaking too.

Chris G.

Writer and activist Chris Geovanis started backpacking 15 years ago --
at a time when her idea of camping was black-and-white TV and her idea
of nature was her back yard, which is paved. In the ensuing decade and a
half, she's scrambled trails and peaks across the U.S. and Canadian
Rockies, in coastal and interior Alaska, and in the Olympic Peninsula,
where she first sampled the joys of hiking with tide tables and
thwarting avian and mammalian breakfast bandits. She's learned how to
rough it -- but not too much -- on the trail, and manage challenges that
range from blister-prone heels to the desperate need for a decent cup o
joe at eight thousand feet. Her ethos? "I work hard
to balance effort
with comfort when I'm backpacking. The trick is to get to the truly wild
places safely, responsibly and with joy -- so you have the time, energy
and mindset to fully experience the transforming power and beauty of
wilderness."

peaks beyond by a wide valley below ... and a road!
